Puerto Rico

We just got back from a wonderful vacation to Puerto Rico! We had such an amazing time...fun and relaxing! We stayed about an hour away from San Juan in the town of Fajardo. Our resort was very nice and had its own private island - Palamino Island which was awesome. We spent a few days out there. We also spent one day in Old San Juan. The archietchture and history is amazing and we spent a few hours just touring one of the two forts in Old San Juan. The weather was perfect. I got to visit the spa for a "Mango Tango" massage and Duke played golf on a beautiful course.

As for funny moments (well at least we can laugh about them now)one occured when I had to drive to Old San Juan. If you've ever driven with me then you know why this is funny. I'm not the most confident driver and there are basically no traffic laws, or none that are enforced, in Puerto Rico. So it wasn't the most relaxing drive.

We also took a kayak tour to a bioluminescent bay near our hotel. There are only five in the world and three are in Puerto Rico. You go at night and there are millions of organisms (like Plankton) that glow in the water. People raved about the tour. Well, fist off, duke and I could NOT handle kayaking. We could not go in a straight line. If we would have been videotaped, it would have been pretty funny. We got all the way out to the bay and all they would let us do is put our hands in the water for about 10 minutes. We headed back to the shore and we got about 3/4 of the way there and it started to rain...hard. The last thing I'll say about this experiece is that Duke and I could NEVER, EVER do the amazing race together!!!

We have the best time, but we're also glad to be home. Here are some pics of the trip.
