Who Has the Cutest Family Ever????

My brother!

Weekend

We had a great weekend here in Chicago. Friday, our friends Jorie and Jason were in town and the guys headed to a Cubs game. Jorie and I got to visit baby Ethan for a while on Friday afternoon. He is doing wonderfully and is the cutest little thing. We are keeping our fingers crossed that he gets to go home to his very cute nursery soon.

Friday night, Jorie, Alison, Laura, Anna and I went to Fifty/50 for dinner and then back to Laura's house. It was such a treat to hang out with all the IU girls and Anna is so much fun to be around. I think I've said this before, but her smile is the sweetest thing in the world.

Saturday night we headed to our friend's Sarah and Brian Hood's for their housewarming party. They have been remodeling their home over the past year and had a few people over now that they are finished. It looks amazing!! They did a wonderfully job and I know they're glad to be done and just enjoying their home. We headed out to Moonshine and then Merkle's where it's always fun and I get my dancing fix for a while:)

Sunday was the perfect day. We went for our first brunch experience at Juicy Wine Co. and it is AWESOME! Duke was in heaven. Very good Bloody Mary's, chicken and waffles, omelets, we wanted everything on the menu. After brunch we headed to our place to hang out for a bit and then Beas and Jack joined us to go to the Wicker Park street fest. I had not been to this street fest before and I was surprised at how nice/big it was. They had two stages, lots of fun tents and the park was the perfect spot to sit and take it all in. Little Jack is growing up so fast. I'm not sure who had more fun on the playground, Jack or Uncle Duke. We hung out for a while to catch the Charlie Hunter Trio band and then headed home. It was a beautiful day and the perfect end to our very fun weekend.

Is it Friday yet?

Happy Birthday Mom!

Mom,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I wish we could be there to celebrate with you!! Thanks for being such an amazing woman, mother and friend. I miss you and can't wait to see you later this summer.

Love,
Sarah

Crab at the Powell's

Last weekend the Powell's hosted an awesome party for us and a few friends. They are both from the Maryland area and had a ton of fresh crab flow in from their hometown so we could experience a real crab feast! I thought it was a ton of crab, but we ate ALL of it within a few hours. It was so much fun and we can't wait until next year. Thanks Kathryn and Wes!!

Congrats to Emily & Chris!

This is another very late post! Congratulations to my dear friend/Chicago roommate Emily Fister and Chris Greco on their engagement!!!! We love them both so much and have had some of the best times with them over the past six years. Chris and I went to high school together and he also went to IU. Emily and I met at IU and were roommates for our first two years in Chicago. Those were two really really fun years!

For those of you who don't know Emily, she is from Louisville, KY and a huge Derby fan (we had a few fun Derby parties with her awesome Derby pie in Chicago). Well, Chris popped the question a few days before the Derby this year and they were able to celebrate all weekend with lots of family. It sounded like a blast. They look so happy and we can't wait to celebrate with them in person. You can check out their blog for more details on the big weekend here.

Congrats again! We love you guys!!

Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Pucci!

I am posting this very late, but we wanted to say a big congratulations to my friend from college Ben on his recent marriage to Julia!! They married in May in Florida...how cool is that picutre!! They also just moved into a new home! We don't get to hang out with them as much as we would like since they live in the burbs (far far away burbs!), but we always look forward to their visits to the city. They are wonderful friends and we're so happy for them!

4th of July Weekend

Pics:
Me, Grayson and his godfather, Mike (Kelly's brother)

Grayson and his Mommy & Daddy (on Grandpa and Sassy's beautiful deck)
Grayson, Grandpa & Snuggies (she loved playing with Grayson)

We had a great weekend in Pittsburgh. We got to see lots of family, had Grayson's baptism and enjoyed really nice weather for the entire trip. We arrived at my parent's house on Thursday night and the guys played golf Friday and Saturday. We went to my sister-in-law Kelly's parent's house Friday night. It was great to see all of her family and have some tasty cook-out food. After the cook-out, we went downtown with Adam and Kelly and had a great time!! We made two stops, the The Claddagh Irish Pub in South Side Works and Fatheads on Carson St. We really wish we could hang out with them more often. Saturday night we had looked at some old pics that my grandparents brought with them on slides. It was so fun to see my mom as a kid, mom and dad as a young couple and there were also quite a few photos of Adam and I as kids. I think Duke enjoyed seeing these more than anyone. Sunday was the baptism and lunch at my parents house. My beautiful godson was a perfect angel at the baptism...he loved the organ music. Lunch was awesome with some great pulled pork that Adam and Kelly made and it was topped off by my mom's famous gigantic flag cake! I can't believe that I didn't get a picture of it. We also had two fires in my dad's new fire pit that he put together for the weekend which I loved and so did the neighbors. The little girl who lives next to my parents, Sophie, was celebrating her birthday and came over with all of her friends and cousins for smores. I always love going home to Pittsburgh and this trip was extra special because we got to spend so much time with Adam, Kelly and Grayson. Can't wait to go back in a few months to celebrate his 1st birthday!!

Here's a link to Adam's latest album of Grayson if you want to see some more pics of Grayson and the weekend.
