Indy 500

Thank you Oskays for a GREAT weekend. We just got back from Indianapolis and an awesome race weekend. We arrived at the Oskay's on Saturday and headed straight out to two race parties.

Sunday, we were out the door by 8:30 AM to pick-up Jorie's Uncle, two nephews and friend Stephanie. We had a police escort to the track which was THE BEST perk ever!! There was so much traffic and we just zipped right by to our parking spot near the track. We then went tailgate hopping and ended a car that was right by our seats.

As for the race...I basically sat with my mouth wide open for the first five minutes watching the cars go by at 220 mph. I still can't believe anyone can do that. I was cheering for Buddy Rice #15 because I liked his name. Duke was cheering for Will Power for the same reason. Jorie cheered for Danica Patrick who unfortunately was out with 30 laps to go when another driver ran into her in the pit lane. Scott Dixon was the winner. Buddy Rice came in 7th or 8th I think.

We had the best time and really enjoyed the race. The weather was perfect all day. After the race it was on the Slippery Noodle for dinner and then we headed home after a long, but very fun day. Jorie and Jason really know how to host a fun race weekend!!

It went by fast, but we are looking forward to seeing Jorie, Jason and the girls in a few weeks here in Chicago. We hope everyone had a fun holiday weekend.

The Beaumont Wedding

Congratulations to John and Jennifer Beaumont!! We just got home from the most amazing wedding of Jenny and John in Kansas City. We had an AMAZING time!! Jenny looked spectacular in one of the most beautiful dressed I have ever seen and John looked so sweet as he saw Jenny walk into the church. They and their families planned such a great weekend. We spent time in Kansas City's Plaza that has great shops and restaurants, had Kansas City BBQ at Jack Stack BBQ for the rehearsal dinner and the reception was a BLAST at the Kemper Contemporary Art Museum. The flowers were gorgeous...huge bouquets of bright green and white. Jenny's dad gave a great speech, they had a very cute slide show projected onto the wall of the museum, we had the best time with John's friends and Jenny's friends from home and college (we wished they all lived in Chicago)...I could go on and on and on. Every tiny little detail was just perfect!

It was so fun to spend the night eating outstanding food, dancing to awesome music and laughing with our friends. We were able to spend some quality time with our dear friends Robin and Mike Edison who live in Michigan (and we miss SO much). Mike and Nicole busted a move on the dance floor and I've put the video below (I can't figure out how to rotate it. If you know, send me an email). It is hilarious. Mike, we need to have a repeat dance party at the cottage in a few weeks. Will you be wearing those cute white shoes again? Duke busted a move with Jenny's mom and John's Aunt Beth. He means business on the dance floor. Unfortunately, I don't have any video of Duke dancing now, but I'm pretty sure he got a good 20 minutes of camera time with the wedding videographer.

We ended the night at the Chicago hot dog stand Jenny and John had outside the reception. That was a BIG hit.

To Jenny and John (and their parents) - thank you so much for a wonderful weekend. We can't wait to see you soon and talk about all the fun moments over the past few days. Congrats again to an amazing couple we feel blessed to call two of our best friends.

Mother's Day

We spent a wonderful Mother's Day with Duke's family. All of Duke's siblings and their families were there and the kids had a great time. Our little nephew Jack is getting so big. He can say Duke and Snuggs and he as the cutest smile. Duke took his hat from German Night for the kids...it looks much better on Conor and Julia!! We hope you all had a nice weekend!

German Night

We've been going out for German food about once every one or two months with a group of friends and this time our friend's Keely and Spencer hosted German Night at their beautiful home. They made all sorts of German food and they even dressed in their German best! We had a great time and it was fun to hang out with everyone. Don't the guys look great in their hats!
